VYPE Oklahoma Announces Victory Christian’s Jaxie Wakley as the 2019 Shelter Insurance Miss Volleyball Oklahoma

TULSA – VYPE Oklahoma is proud to announce Victory Christian senior Jaxie Wakley as the recipient of the 2019 Shelter Insurance Miss Volleyball Oklahoma award. Wakley is the first player to receive this award.

Wakley is a 6’1 middle who was captain on three consecutive state championship teams in 2017 (5A), 2018 (4A), and 2019 (5A). During the 2019 season Wakley had 511 kills, .325 hitting %, 89 blocks, and 342 digs.

“Jaxie is one of the top players in the entire state in any class,” said Dan Donohue, Victory head volleyball coach. “She has led Victory in kills and blocks on three state championship teams.”

  

Wakley has signed a full scholarship with Oral Roberts University to play volleyball. Throughout her high school varsity career Wakley has earned many accolades including 2017 5A State Tournament MVP, Catoosa tournament MVP 2017-2018-2019, 2017 and 2018 Tulsa World All-Metro finalist for volleyball, Owasso tournament All-Tournament 2018-2019, Union Tournament MVP 2019, and has been on the All-Tournament team for all six tournaments that she has played in during her junior and senior years.

The Shelter Insurance Miss Volleyball Oklahoma Award recognizes the outstanding athletic achievements of Jaxie Wakley and the high standards of athletic excellence and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the court, which distinguishes Wakley as Oklahoma’s best high school volleyball player this season.
