Hannah Harrison, a senior at Westmoore High School, currently competes as a pitcher for the Jaguars softball team.

Harrison began has played softball for the past ten years and began playing the sport after being inspired by her mother who played as well. Her favorite aspect about playing for the Jaguars is being able to do what she loves with her teammates. Her teammates have been a huge support system and encouragement for her to excel in softball.

“Softball is a team sport and I know I can not do it by myself,” Harrison said. “My teammates always have my back and I trust them. I enjoy being with them both on and off the field.”

Harrison, in return, has also tried to be a support system to her teammates by being an encouraging player and role model for the other girls.

“I want to be a witness to those around me and let my actions speak louder than my words,” Harrison said.

In her time at Westmoore, Harrison has also become an active and successful student in her school community. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout the past few years at the school. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, American Sign Language club, a member of the swim team, involved in her church youth group and she also competes in club softball on the Tulsa Elite Walde.

When asked if she finds it difficult to balance softball and her other activities, Harrison said that she places her academics and homework as her first priority, with everything else coming after. She said she wants to be proud of her work and everything she does, so she dedicates the time and energy that it takes to be successful in all aspects of her life.

After graduating high school Harrison is committed to attend and play softball at Pittsburg State University where she plans on pursuing a degree in sports medicine.
