Norman North's Peyton Vinyard – Academic Athlete of the Month Presented by Republic Bank & Trust
- Updated: December 21, 2018
Multi-sport athlete Peyton Vinyard sets a standard for student-athletes at Norman North High School to follow. Between academics and athletics, Vinyard is always working for that perfect balance.
“My academics are very important to me. I try to keep a good balance between school and two sports,” said Vinyard. “My favorite class is math because I enjoy problem solving and I have had great teachers.”
Outside of athletics, Vinyard is involved in several clubs at Norman North.
“I am a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and SPUD at Norman North, which is Students Performing Unselfish Deeds. We raise money every year for families and organizations in need in the Norman community. I have been a SPUD Royalty member for all four years and raised at least $1500 each year,” said Vinyard.
Currently, Vinyard carries a 4.0 weighted GPA and is looking forward to taking that next step to continue his education.
“In college I would like to study something in the business field. I am interested in becoming an entrepreneur and owning my own business someday,” said Vinyard.
This season, Vinyard and the Timberwolves are looking to leave their mark on the program. Vinyard gives his teammates credit for helping him become the player he is today.
“My teammates mean a lot to me. They are my family and I would do anything for any of them. I could not be where I am without them,” said Vinyard.
