Norman North returns four starters to the court this season as head coach Rory Hamilton looks to turn the corner and get this program into the state tournament.
“We return four starters with great expectations. We are looking for depth to help contribute towards a birth in the state tournament,” said coach Hamilton.
Jacie Evans (5-7, Sr.) averaged 13.7 points a game with 6.0 rebounds and was named to the VYPE Top 100 this season. Her production sets the tone for the offense. Evans will start at point guard while Jessika Evans (6-0, Jr.) will play forward. Jessika accounted for 9.5 points and 7.0 rebounds last season as a sophomore. Kayton Kite (5-6, Jr.) could figure big into the offense as her three-point shooting continues to improve. She averaged 8.6 points a game last year. Post player Emma Base (5-10, Sr.) will bring leadership and experience to the floor this season. Base averaged 5.0 points with 3.8 rebounds per contest last year. Kennedy Cummings (5-6, So.) averaged 2.0 points a game at guard as a freshman. Another player to watch is Jade Robinson (5-7, So.). Coach Hamilton feels Robinson, who plays guard, could have a breakout season and become one of the top players on the team.
Assistant coaches on staff this year include Al Beal, Kim Robinson and Torey Cooper.
