Baylea Smith – Noble High School

Growing up on the softball field, Noble High School softball player Baylea Smith, started playing the sport at the young age of three. Today, she is a varsity starter for Noble, playing multiple positions.

“My primary positions are shortstop and catcher, although I pitch for my school team,” said Smith.

Only a freshman, Smith has made an impact as a varsity player for Noble on and off the field. Smith is on the student council and is Co-President of the freshman class. Winning the online poll for Miss Softball honors was exciting and humbling for Smith.

“I truly have never felt more supported. Noble, as well as my friends and family, overwhelmed me with their votes and kind messages. It definitely feeds my passion and drives me to do better,” said Smith.

The connections Smith has made on her team has helped her get comfortable as a varsity player.

“My teammates mean a lot because they encourage me to keep working hard even when things are not going well,” said Smith.

Smith works hard to be the best player she can be on the field and in the classroom.

“Academics are extremely important to me and are emphasized by my parents. I understand that softball is temporary, but academics will help determine the quality of my future in the long term,” said Smith.

Her future plans include attending law school and playing softball at the next level. But before she walks across the stage, Smith wants to lead NHS to something special. Her message to her teammates is a simple one.

“A good work ethic will pay off. Continue to strive to achieve your biggest dreams and don’t sell yourself short,” said Smith.
