Norman's Averie Gibbins: Academic Athlete of the Month – Presented by Republic Bank & Trust

Norman High School senior Averie Gibbins is entering her fourth year of pom and her third year as a captain. 

Academics take priority over all other activities for Gibbins, who challenges herself with college level classes and a tough schedule. 

“My academics are extremely important to me. I currently have a 4.0 weighted GPA, I enjoy challenging myself academically by taking AP classes and participating in concurrent enrollment through OU and OCCC. After I graduate I plan on attending the University of Oklahoma. I plan on majoring in Pre-Med Biology, in hopes of becoming a dermatologist,” said Gibbins. 

The senior also belongs to several clubs including National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars and Link Crew. 

As a student at NHS, Gibbins bleeds orange and black.
