Noble’s Cooper Barnes – Academic Athlete sponsored by Republic Bank & Trust

Cooper Barnes is a senior on Noble’s varsity wrestling team. He’s currently 16-3 and has wrestled since 7th grade. But there is more to Cooper Barnes than wrestling. He’s also on the cross county and track teams as well. Not only is he an athlete, but he’s also book smart.
Cooper’s current high school GPA is 3.9.
“I took the ACT and PSAT,” said Barnes. “I scored a 25 on my ACT and 1160 on my PSAT. My favorite class is my math classes. I’ve just always enjoyed it more than all the others.”
Although he has no specific college in mind, Cooper already knows what career he wants to pursue.
“I’m gonna go to college and become a teacher,” he said. “Preferably in the middle school area, 4th or 5th grade, and I want to teach Algebra. I don’t know why. I’ve just always wanted to be a teacher.”
