Moore's Hunter Daniel – Academic Athlete sponsored by Republic Bank and Trust

Despite being only a sophomore on Moore High School’s wrestling team, Hunter Daniel already has a plan.
Daniel, whose father served in the Navy, hopes to attend Navy Academy after graduating from Moore in 2021.
“That’s his goal,” Moore wrestling coach Robert Washington said. “… Some kids will say they want this, but he’s actually trying to do the things in the classroom and on the mat.
“Being a young man, he might change his mind, but he’s got a goal to do that and he’s already kind of leaning that way. Most kids that age don’t even know what they want to do, they don’t even know what they had for lunch. This kid here is just focused. That’s something we talk about with all our team is having goals other than just five minutes, (but) lifetime goals, goals in classroom.”
Daniel is a two-year starter under Washington after cracking the lineup as a freshman last year for the Lions. Although three seniors are on Moore’s wrestling team, Daniel already stands out the most after being in the program only two years.
“I can say, ‘Hey, this kid here is pretty sharp, he’s a sharp cat,’” Washington said.
