Norman's Andrew Young – Academic Athlete of the Month sponsored by Republic Bank and Trust

Not every student athlete has the motivation to be just as successful in the classroom as they are on the field. Andrew Bruster-Young is the type to keep his eyes on the prize, academically-speaking.
Bruster-Young claims his “drive to go to college and get a degree and a good job” is his incentive for doing well in class.
The Norman High sophomore manages to maintain a 4.0 GPA while playing for both the football and basketball teams.
His drive to be successful is encouraged by his teachers, including one in particular.
“My favorite teacher is Mrs. Wilson, my 9th grade biology teacher,” he said. “She told me that with motivation, I can accomplish just about anything.”
After he wraps up his high school career at Norman High, Bruster-Young plans to attend college on an academic or an athletic scholarship.
“It has been my dream to play D-1 football, but if that is not achieved, I plan on going to college and getting a degree as an engineering major,” he said.
