Norman North – Angel Robinson – Driven Athlete of the Month sponsored by Landers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram
- Updated: September 13, 2017
Written by Kyle Payne
Angel Robinson is a star senior for the Norman North Volleyball team. She is a big hitter for the reigning state runner-ups, and looks to lead this team even further this season. For Angel and the rest of the team, making it to the finals was “a heartbreaking loss but was the biggest achievement in (our) programs history.”
Angel’s volleyball career started off rocky, because Volleyball wasn’t her passion. But she quickly realized her talent making varsity as a freshman and pushed forward, earning herself a spot on the Virginia Tech volleyball team starting next fall. Volleyball is about a lot more than a game. It’s a chance to bond with her friends on the team, and become a better leader for the younger girls on the roster.
Aside from volleyball, Angel goes to school part time and cosmetology school for the rest of her day at the Moore-Norman Technology Center, where she will finish up those qualifications in May. She hopes to continue cosmetology during college, but once she graduates she will focus on whatever major she chooses.
Playing for Virginia Tech will sum up the hard work and drive Angel puts forth in everything she does, and the Norman North team will be a force in 2017.
