Southmoore has taken the motto of ‘Iron Sharpens Iron’ for their summer workout and the impending season.

“He’s the type of kid that you never have to worry about where he’s going to be,” Southmoore coach Jeremy Stark said. “If we have something scheduled at 8 a.m., he’s going to be there at 7:30. He’s the first one there, last one gone. He works his tail off. He’s the type of guy that is going to help other kids out. … He’s a total team player, and he’ll do whatever you ask him to do.”

Spradling considers himself a friends-first kind of teammate, and he has received interest from Northeastern State, Oklahoma Baptist, Missouri Southern, UCO, and SWOSU.

He helps with community outreach for the youth group at Southern Hills Baptist Church and is an advocate for YoungLife. Spradling hopes to major in business and eventually lead a fire department.

That sort of leadership lends itself to the field as well.

“He’s the leader of that front seven,” Stark said. “He’s the one communicating everything to those guys. There’s never a missed single. There’s never a missed call. There’s never a missed alignment. He studies the game, and he plays hard. Every single play, he’s going to give you everything he has.”
